COSEBOC School Award Program

COSEBOC is pleased to announce the Inaugural COSEBOC School Awards, intended to celebrate successful schools. Do you know of a school that consistently generates male students of color with academic outcomes and personal characteristics that rival statewide averages? If so, encourage them to apply. And help us spread the word. More...

Purpose

  • IDENTIFY, RECOGNIZE, AND REWARD schools that have a proven track record of effective education of its male students of color
  • PROMOTE the replication of promising practices that contribute to the success of these schools
  • DEMONSTRATE to the public that schools can successfully educate male students of color

Eligible Applicants

  • Any elementary or secondary school in the United States (including district, charter, or private schools) where:

    1. At least 25% of the male students are students of color (African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, Native American, Multi-racial) and
    2. Academic achievement of its male students of color is at least equal to the academic achievement of students in its state.

Application

COSEBOC School Award Recipients

  • RECEIVE $10,000 cash grant
  • ATTEND and present their promising practices at 2012 COSEBOC Gathering of Leaders in Durham, North Carolina
  • PARTICIPATE in national COSEBOC public education campaign highlighting their successes and promoting practices that contribute to their success

  • January 12, 2012, 5 p.m. (EST)
