The Third Annual Gathering of Leaders:
The Affirmative Development of Boys and Young Men of Color:
A Photo Journey of the Gathering at Dillard University

Dear Friends of COSEBOC,

It is a true pleasure to send you this portfolio of pictures taken at the recent Gathering of Leaders. I believe that you will see them as a joyous and nostalgic reminder of a powerful networking and learning experience. Dillard University under the leadership of Dr. Marvelene Hughes was a most gracious host. On behalf of COSEBOC, I want to thank Dr. Hughes, Provost Taylor and Dr. Strong for their incredible level of support, generosity and southern hospitality.

This pictorial collection represents a powerful sample of the dedication to and belief that our boys and young men are worth fighting for. In the pictures I am sure that you will be able to feel the passion and excitement that comes with a common commitment to such a worthy mission. And as we indicated on several occasions the power of the Gathering was in the meaningful participation that our students from Miller-McCoy Academy for Mathematics and Business, St. Augustine High School and the Collegiate 100 of Dillard University played. This Gathering did not talk about boys and young men of color, it actively engaged them. Please enjoy and savor each picture. Together they represent a memorable and unique learning experience.

I want to also thank Clyde Cole, Rita Hunter and Andrea Hurley for taking the time to photograph this event.

Sincerely,
Ron Walker
